About the Item

As outras moralidades [The other moralities / Series] As outras moralidades start from an affect, in the rhizomatic molds of Deleuze and Guattari, cuir-suleado [queer and oriented towards the south] and aims to make what, in the days of the rise of fascism and the new conservatism, is taken as an abjection and a problem, for the interior of the home and private spaces. The series is thus a reappropriation of space: against conservative moralities, the invention of dissenting materialities. Against functionality and limits, a design-exu that assumes the play between the things, the thicknesses, the bodies. Against the control of bodies, the production of rhizomes and alliances that invade spaces and demand from them other stories and other cartographies. Sentada Chair Sentada is a verb and is a noun. In the vernacular it concerns the act of sitting, but also the name that is given to a sexual modality. The sitting has a colonial history, when it was the “nefarious sin”. It has a medical history, when it concerned, until the middle of the twentieth century, a perverse pleasure. It has a history of inventing new, non-reproductive pleasures that are thought of as counter-power. Sentada is, therefore, an artifact that marks the space between the daily act and the resumption of danger, as the epitome of other possibilities – for bodies and for objects. Sentada Chair is made in Brazil. Each piece is handcrafted without the use of computer numerical control (CNC) machines. About Pedro Paulø-Venzon Pedro Paulo Venzon is a designer who has produced objects and artefacts, and whose concern is to create pieces that arise from a decolonial reading of the discussions surrounding contemporary and modem design in Brazil. Since 2011, when he finished his academic studies, he has received important prizes in both Brazilian and international scenario. In 2016 he was a finalist in the Officine Panerai Next Generation Designer, and in 2017 he took part in the Handmade Issue (expo + publication), both promoted by Wallpaper Magazine. There is currently engagement with the production of syntheses between the authorial and Industrial, the local and the global, between tradition and its displacements.
