About the Item

The “Bumerang Chair” is a characteristic piece of furniture from the Polish People’s Republic (PRL) era. Its name comes from the distinctive shape of the backrest, resembling a boomerang. The chair was often made from wood or wood-like materials, featuring simple and minimalist lines, and it was commonly painted in walnut or brown colors. This iconic chair serves as an example of design from that period. The Bumerang Chair was a popular furniture item during the PRL era due to its simplicity, functionality, and affordable price. Its design reflected the minimalist trends of that time. The backrest of the chair indeed had a shape reminiscent of a boomerang, giving it a unique appearance. Despite being a relatively simple piece of furniture, the Bumerang Chair gained significant popularity and became a symbol of that era in Polish design. Thanks to its functionality and low cost, it was widely used in various places such as homes, offices, schools, and public institutions. Today, the Bumerang Chair can be seen as a nostalgic element, harkening back to the aesthetics of the PRL years. Its distinctive design appeals to collectors and vintage enthusiasts who seek furniture and items from that era. About the fabric: A multicolored melange upholstery fabric inspired by the distinctive style of donegal tweeds from Ireland. Color accents on a uniform background are very small - from a distance the fabric seems to be uniform, close up you can see small silk weaves. Granola visually resembles the Prato collection, but it is more subtle and richer in color. Due to the melange weave, it will perfectly fit into interiors inspired by the style of the 60s. It can be used to renovate vintage furniture and produce contemporary models of chairs, armchairs and sofas. It is available in 16 color variants: from more subdued, in earth tones, to pastel ones. Composition: silk 10%, polyester 16%, acrylic 21%, Recycled wool 22%, Recycled cotton 31%. We can prepare this set also in another fabric and wood color, please check the last pictures with color samples. Here set of four chairs is available.
