About the Item

Sol Chair by Giacomo Tomazzi Studio Dimensions: W 60 x D 48 x H 90 cm Materials: Main structure in polished stainless steel tube, Spheres in solid sucupira wood, Seat in curved laminate covered in natural wicker fiber ABOUT Giácomo Tomazzi graduated in architecture and urban planning from the Federal University of Santa Catarina with an emphasis on product design from the State University of Santa Catarina. In 2005, he left Florianópolis for São Paulo and in 2011, he opened his own studio developing original projects and later collaborating with important brands and industries in the furniture sector. He exhibits his pieces at national and international fairs and exhibitions, and exports some of his products to countries in Europe and the United States. He seeks inspiration in architecture, art, nature and national culture, and his pieces reflect his constant research into new production processes, materials and new ways of living, where design takes center stage and becomes a tool for telling stories. With an eye for detail, his designs have personality and elegance, and his authorial language is constructed above all by the use of different raw materials, functionality, minimalist and unusual compositions. Giácomo Tomazzi Studio is based in São Paulo and believes in the intersection of industrial production with artisanal techniques to manufacture products with a Brazilian soul that incorporate beauty, quality and style, and proposing the connection of people, emotions and objects.

Cadeira Chair by Macheia
Located in Geneve, CH
Cadeira Chair by Macheia Handmade In Portugal. Dimensions: D 45 x W 45 x H 88 cm. Materials: Natural dried bulrush and galvanized iron. The chair’s concept is rooted in the notion that every spiral starts around a hand. The hole, the imprint of the creator’s hand, is here highlighted by the organically shaped metal back, pointing out where the chair begins. The rhythm of the metal elements of the chair is set by the stitches from the technique. The technique is seen through a new lens, raw and exposed, bringing it closer to its identity as a plant. The Collection zooms in the Bunho technique - a unique portuguese basketry technique that shapes the natural fiber Bulrush (Schoenoplectrus Palla), into a intricate mesh of knots and stitches. Nowadays, the Bunho technique is kept by the hands and know-how of only two artisans in Europe, One of them is Manuel Ferreira...
