About the Item

A stunning pair of 19th Century well figured, mahogany hall chairs, finely hand carved with gorgeously rich patination and grain. The shaped and pierced shield back with exquisite motifs comprising of beautiful scroll detail to the central reserve bordered with further scroll and trailing foliate motifs, finely carved in high relief. Raised over moulded and shaped serpentine seat and apron above outswept legs to the rear and elegant, tapering cabriole legs to the fore with scroll detail on knee, terminating on whorl foot.
