Two Chairs Model 'B 42' Produced by Tecta in Germany, 1960

About the Item

In good original condition, with minor signs of age and use, which have preserved a beautiful patina. These two vintage cantilever chairs were manufactured by Tecta in Germany around 1960. Ludwig Mies van der Rohe designed the B42 masterpiece as early as 1927. To this day, it is impossible to imagine the world of designer furniture without this free-swinging chair with its simple tubular steel frame. Mies van der Rohe, who is considered one of the most important architects of modernism, gave his designs the expression of constructive logic and spatial freedom. The design of the B42 chair is simple and yet exciting. The material combination of natural wickerwork and steel tubes combines contrasting materials to create a very special piece of furniture. The slender design nestles skilfully at any dining or conference table and can also be used optimally in smaller areas. The high feel-good factor rounds off the free-swinging chair into a work of art of cosiness.
