About the Item

A fine example of an Italian carved walnut recamier with carved crest flanked by turned posts, and arched scrollwork stretchers, with original caning, a small chain attached on verso to adjust the back, supported by six turned legs, joined by turned stretchers. Italian in origin, dating to the early 18th century, in very good condition, with its original finish, with minor caning losses, old crack repairs, evidence of minor worm damage, and other surface imperfections and wear commensurate with age and use. Dimensions: 38.75 in H x 19.5 in W x 60 in D. Ref: 13380
