This is a classic Bar Harbor style wicker chair that dates to the first half of the twentieth century. The chair was reupholstered in a cherry red fabric and repainted at some point in the late twentieth century. The chair is in very good condition; the upholstery, although showing sign of use, is in very acceptable condition. We have decided not to restore the chair as the indications of wear are signs of original desirable patina and add character to the chair. This is a stunning example of the highest level of basket weaving. The crane was created by the Shanghai Handicrafts Co. in the mid-20th century, c. 1960-1970. The Crane is in excellent condition with just a touch of natural patina. The weaving is tight, exhibiting no faults.
