About the Item
A richly upholstered club chair in Jungle Original on Beige Linen, a coveted hand-printed fabric by Bennison Fabrics of England. Known for its painterly botanical motifs and artisanal production, Bennison prints each design in small batches on linens and silks woven and dyed exclusively for the company. The lush tropical pattern—featuring exotic flora in earthy greens, soft reds, and muted blues—wraps the chair’s tufted barrel back, rolled arms, and tailored skirt, creating a visually sumptuous and inviting profile.
The front legs rest on brass casters for ease of movement, while the overall construction reflects high-quality craftsmanship. Handwritten label “Alan B.” to underside, possibly Alan Barnes Interiors. Alan Barnes, a known interior designer operating in New York, was especially active during the late 20th century. While not a furniture maker per se, Barnes frequently collaborated with high-end upholsterers and decorators, commissioning bespoke pieces for elite clients in Manhattan and the Hamptons.

Condition:
Good vintage condition. Upholstery is clean with minimal wear overall with some slight fading and a faint scuff stain to one armrest (see photographs). Structurally sound and visually striking—ready to place.
