A Pair of Vintage Leather Club Chairs, France c.1950
About the Item
These gracefully-proportioned French leather club chairs have classic Art Deco lines with gentle outward arching arms and sloping backs. The chairs are comfortable and perfectly sized to accommodate the greatest range of people. The sheep's leather has developed a softly worn patina with moderate scratches and abrasions. The leather is in very good condition; supple and free from cracking. Its color is unusual -like dark coffee. The original springs have been retained as well as the original stuffing. The seat cushion is also original, with a few scuffs to the front. There are some abrasions to the leather, particularly around the legs. The chairs seem made for a reading room in a contemporary setting.
