A Pair of Vintage Leather Club Chairs, France c.1950
About the Item
This pair of vintage French Art Deco club chairs date to the end of the era. With a design reaching back to the Art Deco period of the 1920s-1940s, these chairs represent the simplified and streamlined terminus of an era of Parisian elegance and comfort. The delicate light brown color has a beautiful softness and subtle patina. Each chair has a unique patina earned only by wear and use. The proportions and overall shape are excellent -not over-scaled or showy, as is often the case with Deco pieces. The chairs are comfortable and highly coveted today because of their stylish, minimalist design and relatively compact proportions. The patina is quite uniform and scratches ang gouges are minimal. Springs and stiffing are original. Restoration available.
