A Pair of French Leather Chairs, c. 1950
About the Item
These gracefully-proportioned French leather club chairs have classic Art Deco lines with restrained curves and gently sloping backs. The chairs are comfortable and inviting and perfectly sized to accommodate the greatest range of people. The lamb leather has developed a softly worn patina with moderate scratches and abrasions. The leather is in good condition; supple and free from cracking. Its color is unusual -more terra cotta than coffee brown. The original springs have been retained as well as the original stuffing. The seat cushion is also original, with a few scuffs to the front. The chairs seem made for a reading room in a contemporary setting. Leather conditioner can be applied at the customer's direction. The chairs are structurally stable.
