A Wonderful Pair of French Leather Club Chairs Chapeau du Gendarme Models, C1950
About the Item
These are beautiful chairs. The original Havana brown leather has aged perfectly. After being cleaned and nourished the leather has revealed a gorgeous patina of lighter brown and chestnut. The condition of these chairs are almost perfect and the leather still has a suppleness. The springs have been checked and any needed alterations have been carried out. These chairs are also lovely to sit in. This is a truly lovely pair of original club chairs.

We've been sourcing original, leather club chairs for 20 years. Even though our stock is quite consistent, finding original club chairs in a very good, original condition is a constant challenge. With our partners in France, we are always on the look out and our chairs can be found anywhere from a local brocante to a chateau sale; from the north to the south of France. In our experience, due to their long lives, nearly all of the chairs will need attention to the springs, after all they're not just objects of beauty, they are to be used. In addition, the leather on our chairs is always nourished and the upholstery cleaned. Our customers range from private homes, to hotels and clubs, film and fashion shoots.
