Right after I graduated as an Industrial designer back in 1999 I started a furniture brand together with my friend Steven Brouns. We felt there was a need for a new type of furniture that was able to adjust itself to the ever changing life situations. Hence the name Livingelements. The name JZUZ was conceived because we believed we had to spread the message of this new kind of living. The first elements were a u and a square shaped seating element. Ludovica and Roberto Palomba propose a collection of upholstered pieces of design recalling some distinctive features of aesthetics coming from the late 80s, such as the die-cast aluminum pointy supports (elegantly painted in this case) and the checkerboard motif of the upholstery.
The result is a refined project, complete with different pieces of design such as sofa, daybed, bench and bed, and meant to be used both in private and public spaces.
LUDOVICA and ROBERTO PALOMBA, architects, work and live in Milan. They founded Palomba Serafini Associati in 1994. They received many international awards such as Compasso D'Oro, Elle Decoration International Design Award, Red Dot, Design Plus, Good Design Award, German Design Award.

An antique or vintage daybed is a practical solution for furnishing any modest-sized bedroom or guest room and can even be a versatile option for the reading nook in your living room.
