Abraham Sprij Set of 4 'Chalet Chique' Dining Chairs in Solid Oak, The Netherlands, 1960s. This is a wonderful set of 4 (we also have fifth chair available on request) mid century 'chalet chique' dining chairs in solid oak by Abraham Sprij. A great and distinct design with both sharp and soft lines - creating a silhouette that resembles that of rustic antique alpine style chairs. Very good quality and construction - very heavy and sturdy. Great details like the visible construction details. Wonderful patina on the wood - overall a very good and original condition. Directly from the first owner who bought them in the late sixties. Sprij Meubelen Abraham Sprij started his workshop in 1932 in Vlaardingen, the Netherlands. Having considerable succes with his ‘stijlmeubelen’ in solid oak, he later also opened a factory in Klundert. Sprij Meubelen was one of the earliest makers of furniture in solid oak, being a forerunner and visionary in creating a versatile and distinct range of high quality oak furniture in different styles - like Guillerme et Chambron (Votre Maison) did in France
