The solid walnut frame, ebonized in a silky jet-black finish, is in very good shape showing only minor nicks and light surface scratches (the worst of which can be seen in the photos provided) but showing no gouges or stains. The original caning is also in superb original condition showing no tears, rips or stains whatsoever and this artfully-crafted chair is entirely weight-bearing. This absurdly gorgeous piece is comfortable, structurally sound and ready for decades more of use. Please view all photos for details on this exquisite chair's current condition. Considered a pioneer in molded plywood, Norman Cherner used this method to create a line of seating for Plycraft that led to his famous "Cherner Chair."
