About the Item

Stylish set of 6 cantilever dining chairs model T70/920 designed by Carlo Bartoli and manufactured by Tisettanta in Italy in 1971. The chairs have a sleek chrome-plated steel frame and comfortable seats made of thick cognac leather. The leather has this awesome patina from years of use, giving each chair its own unique character. The leather is nicely folded over the frame and visually stitched at the back and at the bottom its held together with metal springs under the seats, making them sturdy and flexible. What makes these chairs stand out is their minimalist design which is simple and iconic. At the back there is a flat steel stem that gently curves, giving you the perfect back support. And at the bottom, the stem is flattened and beautifully attached to the frame, giving it an unique look.The chairs are in good original condition with a stunning patina which gives them more character. Literature; Repertorio Del Design Italiano 1950~2000 Volume 1 Giuliana Gramigna, page 191 Born in Milan in 1931, Bartoli is an internationally recognised architect and designer. Following his graduation in Architecture from the Politecnico di Milano in (XXX) he embarked on a career in architecture before specialising in interior and industrial design, designing furnishings and comsumer goods for mass production. He is the Professor of Design at the Upper Course of Industrial Design, Florence and his designs feature in many exhibitions and Art Galleries globally. One of his most famous designs is the Gaia armchair which is on display in the permanent design collection of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMa) in New York and the Design Museum of Milan Triennale.
