About the Item

A finely crafted pair of Danish Modern teak side chairs designed by Henning Kjaernulf for Bruno Hansen, circa 1960s. This 'Model 255' design is a standout example of Kjaernulf's sculptural yet restrained approach to furniture — an expressive take on the traditional Y-back form, showcasing elegant joinery and warm wood grain. The solid teak frames feature a gently curved top rail, subtly tapered legs, and a graphic, angled backrest design that balances form and function. The seats are upholstered in a textured seafoam blue-green woven fabric with a softly rounded front edge. Both chairs retain their original designer and maker stamp beneath the seat, confirming authenticity. These chairs are exemplary of Scandinavian Modern, Danish Modern, and Mid-Century Modern design — clean, warm, and timeless. Their scale and graceful silhouette also make them a natural fit for Contemporary, Transitional, or Minimalist interiors. Beyond dining use, this pair is versatile enough to serve as side chairs, hallway chairs, entryway chairs, occasional chairs, breakfast or café chairs, fireside chairs, or dressing room seating. They also work beautifully in office guest areas, creative studios, reading nooks, or boutique commercial projects such as hotel suites, members lounges, or retail settings.
