Rustic Antique Italian Woven Dining Chairs, 1900s, Set of 4
About the Item
A soulful set of four antique dining chairs, handmade in Tuscany in the early 1900s and imported to the U.S. in the late 1940s.
Each chair is a piece of Italian history—simple, honest, and beautifully aged.
The frames are hand-carved from solid wood, with warm golden tones and a rustic, organic texture.
Woven across each seat and back is thick burgundy-brown leather, aged to perfection.
The straps are rich with patina, showing off subtle color shifts and wear that only time can create.
The leather is secured with antique brass nails—aged and beautifully darkened—each one driven in by hand to anchor the strapping to the frame. It’s a detail that feels both utilitarian and poetic, echoing the care and precision of its original maker.
No two chairs are exactly alike. Each carries unique markings and quirks—small variations in wood grain, leather tone and age, and tool marks that reflect their handmade nature.
