About the Item

Set of 4 Mid Century Modernist Dining Chairs in Oak and Straw, Belgium, 1960s. This remarkable set of four modernistic dining chairs comes from the first owner and is designed in the manner of the works by Belgian designer and art collector Emiel Veranneman. They have a very distinct design with sturdy lines and and are very well made in solid oak and straw - showing true craftsmanship. The proportions are well chosen and the chairs have a sturdy yet elegant appearance. Less is more, no decorative elements are added. The slightly angled rear legs are characteristic, as well as the recessed edge underneath the straw seat. The solid oak frame shows great quality, and besides minor signs of use, this admirable set is in a good condition.
