Set of Four French Louis XVI Style Dining Chairs with Brown Mohair
About the Item
Handsome set of four French dining chairs crafted in the grand Louis XI taste. The mid-20th century chairs feature carved beech frames with a natural finish. The frames have round cameo or balloon backs having a distinctive exposed rear side. The generous seats have a bowed front with carved rosettes on the corners in the neoclassical style. The frames are upholstered with a vintage mohair fabric bordered by brass tack nail heads. The chairs are strong and solid with excellent joinery and craftsmanship. The vintage fabric while slightly faded still shows well. The beech wood has a warm dark honey toned finish. The chairs are supported by tapered, fluted legs ending with toupie feet. - Condition:Wear consistent with age and use. Beautifully crafted with solid joinery and construction. Age appropriate wear with minor chips, scuffs, and small scratches on finish as seen in photos. Original fabric is faded, aged, but shows well.

Exquisite set of six 20th century French dining chairs crafted in the Louis XVI taste. The chairs feature carved and painted frames with an oval cameo back. The frames are upholstered with a dark rośe colored mohair velvet bordered by patinated brass tack nail heads. The seats are supported by fluted legs with carved rosettes on top ending with toupie feet. The painted finish has an intentionally aged patina as seen in photos.
