About the Item

A striking three-piece avant-garde ensemble designed by Jindřich Halabala for UP Závody in former Czechoslovakia, circa 1930s. This rare seating set, rooted in early European modernism, consists of two cantilevered H-128 tubular steel armchairs and a matching H-13 side table. With its clean lines, floating geometries, and dynamic color pairing, the set exemplifies Halabala’s visionary contribution to functionalist design. The bent plywood elements were expertly refinished in original period-correct colors—RAL 3016 coral red for the chairs and RAL 260 40 35 Bauhaus blue for the table—bringing out the daring chromatic vocabulary of the 1930s avant-garde. The tubular chrome-plated steel structures remain in superb original condition, gleaming with preserved integrity and Bauhaus spirit. Whether placed in a collector's gallery or a modernist living space, this set captures the radical elegance of the interwar Czech design movement. Dimensions: Chairs (each): H 75 × W 55 × D 55 cm Table: H 60 × Diameter 60 cm Condition: Chrome in excellent original condition Wood professionally refinished in historically accurate hues Structurally solid and ready to use Note: Price includes the full set of two chairs and table.
