Pair of French Director Chairs in the Style of Jean-Michel Frank

About the Item

A pair of striking 1980s French director chairs in the style of Jean-Michel Frank, Andrea Putnam re-edition. These armchairs feature sturdy wooden frames in a rich, dark finish with criss-cross legs, a hallmark of the director chair design. The weathered frames are beautifully complemented by smooth, black leather seats and backrests accented with contrasting off-white stitching. Unmarked. France, 1980s. Bibliography: The original model is presented in the following book: Léopold Diégo Sanchez, Jean-Michel Frank / Adolphe Chanaux, Les Éditions du Regard, Paris, 1980 (2nd edition), model reproduced on full page p. 109. Condition: Great overall vintage condition. Minor creasing along areas of the leather that aligns with age and use.
