About the Item
Introducing a set of two spectacularly well-kept bentwood lounge chairs in 100% original, vintage condition. The frames are constructed of bent and laminated beech wood with stunning variegated woodgrains throughout. The caramel-colored vegan leather (thick-cut vinyl) is in lightly patained condition which perfectly offsets the rich woodgrains of the beech wood frames. Designed after the late great Ingmar Relling these loungers are ideal for designers searching for a classic Scandinavian Modern design that won't break the bank.
Norwegian-born architect and designer Ingmar Relling is known as one of Norway’s most internationally recognized and revered designers and is considered a major player in the Scandinavian Mid-Century Modern design movement. In 1965, Relling, in collaboration with his son Knut Relling, designed the Siesta Chair winning him first prize by the Industry Council for Furniture that same year. Relling was passionate about creating furniture that was ergonomic and eco-friendly, ensuring that his pieces were constructed in way that could be repaired.

This architecturally stunning set of bentwood lounge chairs is in 100% original, vintage condition and has aged to perfection! The bentwood frame, made of beech, is in amazingly excellent original condition showing only mild surface scratches too fine to be picked up by our cameras. There are no gouges stains or other damage present whatsoever.
The vinyl vegan leather is in stunning lightly patinaed condition showing some discoloration, scratches and other wear associated with a once loved and utilized piece (which can be seen clearly in the detail photos provided) but showing no rips, odors or other damage whatsoever. The original foam and support straps are sturdy and weight-bearing.
This splendid Scandinavian lounge chair set is incredibly comfortable, structurally sound and ready for a literal lifetime more of use.
