About the Item

An extremely rare seating group of eight Petal chairs model no. 7814 designed by New York interior designer and architect John Saladino for Dunbar. The furniture, all of which is based on simple geometric forms, is intended to appeal to both the traditionalist and the modernist. A soft-spoken chair stands out with its classic silhouette and fine details, with an authority that demands your attention. Wrapped from head-to-toe in velvet, circular-form bodies the enveloping design slope down to integrated arms, a single, reversible seat cushion that enriches the contemporary lines with a feeling of opulence. These chairs are the perfect profile for limited-dimension spaces. John F. Saladino is one of the world's most distinguished and respected Architectural and Interior Designers. Often referred to as the "designer's designer," has won numerous Interior Design and Furniture awards and has served as a board member for a number of organizations, including Formica, Parsons School of Design, Steuben Glass, Save Venice, and the Sir John Soane Museum Foundation. He created limited furniture collections for Dunbar, Bloomingdale’s, and Baker, Knapp, and Tubbs.
