Two 1960s "421" Diamond Chairs By Harry Bertoia For Knoll International

About the Item

An early pair of 1960s "421" Diamond chairs by Harry Bertoia for Knoll International, in white with contrasting black legs. Harry Bertoia's finest achievement, the striking 421 chair is welded from steel rods and coated in Rilsan plastic. These perfectly shaped chairs are comfortable even without seat pads. They would make the most stylish of garden or patio chairs. These chairs show some signs of vintage. There is some degrading of the plastic coating to the bottom of the runners and at extremities. They have been retouched in places but are otherwise in original condition. There is evidence of rusting to the bolts and legs but they are structurally sound throughout. The general patina gives a sense of history and beauty to this arresting design.
