Odelberg-Olson "Working Chair" for Knoll, 1948

About the Item

An uncommon "Working Chair" designed and manufactured in Sweden by Odelberg-Olsen in 1948 for distribution by Knoll in the U.S. market. The chair is constructed of birch plywood and painted steel. It features a pivoting backrest which adjusts to your body in real time, and the chair can also be heightened and lowered (16"-19"), as well as swivel. This example features the much less common and highly desirable contoured seat and back. The patina is absolutely jaw dropping, as can be seen in the photos. Serious Jean Prouvé industrial modern vibes.
