About the Item

Beautiful set of Herbert Hirche model 350 modular lounge chairs, made by Mauser Werke, circa 1974. Thick synthetic black leather and a cast aluminium and tubular steel frame, very comfortable! In 1974, the Hirche team designed the armchair under the name 'System Sessel-Gruppe 350' for Mauser Waldeck, where it was produced for several years. Elegant and functional, the design brings out the aesthetics of the 1970s. He shows his ability to respond to new influences of the time without abandoning the consistently strict attitude of his design. 350' is supplied with thick synthetic black leather and a cast aluminium and tubular steel frame. Herbert Hirche is one of the most important German architects and designers of the 1950s and 1960s. After an apprenticeship as a carpenter, he studied at the Bauhaus in Dessau and Berlin with Kandinsky and Mies van der Rohe, among others, and then worked in their Berlin office. After further collaboration with Egon Eiermann, he became professor at the Hochschule für angewandte Kunst in Berlin-Weißensee in 1948 and later at the Staatliche Akademie für bildende Kunst in Stuttgart. In addition to his teaching activities, Hirche always worked as a freelance architect and designer and had a great influence on the development of product design in post-war Germany. He was a member of the Deutscher Werkbund, the Verband Deutscher Industriedesigner and the Rat der Formgebung. His designs are characterized by functionality and harmonious proportions in the style of the Bauhaus doctrine, which naturally fit into their respective surroundings. Measures: Each chair ca.
