About the Item
Amazing monumental cobalt blue silk velvet sectional sofa with ottoman designed by Todd Merrill Custom for a Samantha Todhunter installation. Dramatic scale and presence inspired by the iconic designs of Harvey Probber. The large one-off piece measures over 12 feet long and has tufted seating with a floating base finished in silver. The hardwood frames are upholstered with plush Italian Dedar silk velvet in a blue notte color. The sectional consists of two long sofas each measuring 109 inches long. The sofas are in very good, well-preserved condition. Each sofa seat is 36 inches deep. Sturdy and solid with excellent joinery and craftsmanship. The matching tufted ottoman measures 36 inches square.
Provenance: From a historic 1916 Julia Morgan mansion located in Presidio Heights San Francisco, CA. The dramatic deep blue provides a strong anchor to any large room or space. The design is reminiscent of Harvey Probber's iconic sofas from the 1970's.

- Condition:Wear consistent with age and use. Beautifully crafted with strong solid joinery and construction. Age appropriate wear with minor scuffs to bases as seen in photos. Very minor wear to fabric that is very difficult to see.
