18th C. Italian Venetian Pair of Ornately Carved Side Chairs, Newly Upholstered

About the Item

An Italian Venetian pair of richly-carved wood side chairs with upholstered seats from the 18th Century. This pair of antique chairs from Italy are ornately carved throughout with a wonderful scroll, foliate, and shell motif. The top-rail crest, shoulders, and front skirt are especially beautiful and further embellished with pierce-carvings. The chairs stand on four cabriole legs. Backs and seats have been newly upholstered in a neutral Belgian linen. These gorgeous 18th century Venetian Italian chairs possess the details typical of the Rococo style, while their lines remain relatively calm and measured.
