About the Item

Early modern Jugendstil side chair by Heinrich Vogeler, circa 1910, Germany. Frame carved from blackened oak, square legs (square back legs taper), rushed trapezoidal seat, openwork beaded (bobbin) motif decorates backrest and space between seat and side stretchers. Reverse of backrest is marked "H. W. V." (Heinrich Vogeler, Worpsweder Werkstätte). Note: Regional differences in humidity and climate during shipping may cause antique and vintage wood to shrink and/or split along its grain, veneer to loosen and/or peel, and painted finishes and gilt to crack and flake.
