Pair of Queen Anne Side Chairs Philadelphia Circa 1750 Primary Wood: Walnut Secondary Woods: Yellow Pine, Walnut Height 40 1/4 in. (102.2 cm.) Width: 21 inches Depth: 16 1/2 inches Seat Height: 17 inches Provenance: Israel Sack, Inc., New York Each with front seal rail stamped J.R. Grove. A very rare and fine pair of Queen Anne side chairs with flat stretchers and balloon shaped seats. Chairs of this type are in most major museum collections and rarely appear in this condition. The finish is exemplary and indicative of its age. It is the finish many American collectors crave. Overall the condition is excellent with only the normal signs of use and age expected on a period antique. The provenance is also quite impressive.
