19th Century Walnut Slipper Chair in Green Velvet

About the Item

A good quality Aesthetic Movement walnut slipper chair in green velvet upholstery and tassel trim. Raised on nice turned and fluted front legs with splayed rear legs and all with the original Cope & Collinson brass casters. Probably by Lamb of Manchester. C1870 Structurally in good solid condition with an old metal brace under the left front leg to support the frame which is doing the job just fine. 33cm seat height

    Repaired: Where the frame joins on the front seat rail under the left front leg is an old metal bracket to help keep the frame firm. In our opinion this does the job just fine and doesn't require further repairs as the chair sits firm. Wear consistent with age and use.
