About the Item
Spanish neo-classical high-back auxiliary chair designed by Pierre Lottier for Almazan, 1950s.
Oak wood structure with curved and harmonious lines where the reddish-brown leather back rests with metal studs.
At the leg you can see the Almazan seal (see last photo).
Really comfortable seat! Looks great as a set around a dining table, fireside chairs or as loungers in the living room.
Very good condition and patina, with minimal signs of use.
This chair became very popular in Spain in the 1950s thanks to the design of the French interior designer Pierre Lottier, who settled in Barcelona, for the Spanish brands Valenti, Valmazan and Almazan, which made various versions of this chair and other seats and footrest of the same style, always using oak wood and leather as the only materials.
Each chair has been has been carefully crafted from the highest quality materials combining quality craftsmanship with iconic design. The workmanship demonstrates the dedication and passion for excellence that characterises the work of Pierre Lottier.
Lottier became a French design icon known for designing the interior of well known buildings including the Ritz Hotel in Barcelona. He rubbed shoulders with the rich and famous and his clients included Hollywood ‘A’ listers like Ava Gardner, for whom he designed her Barcelona residence.
