Alessandro Becchi for Giovannetti Collezioni, 'Anfibio' sofa, linen fabric, Italy, 1970s.
Rare early edition "Anfibio" (amphibian) sofa designed by Alessandro Becchi for Giovannetti Collezioni. It is reupholstered in a stunning linen and viscose mix Pila fabric by Bruder Belgium and can easily be converted into a double bed. This piece of furniture is a wonderful and emblematic example of the Italian modern design of the 1970s.
It has the original sheepskin mattress cover. Cleaned and fresh. The bottom has signs of use.
The Anfibio sofa ranks among the most outstanding cult products of Italian design. It is innovative, original, and highly functional; it is a revolutionary sofa-bed, a symbol of high quality and sapient artisanry. It is possible to find it in the permanent collection of 13 museums worldwide, among which the MoMa in New York, since 1972.

“Down” sofa set by Carlo Bartoli for Rossi di Albizzate, 1970s Italy. Part of the Down series this set consist a 2-piece modular sofa, 4 cabinets and a coffee table. Satin black lacquered wood and upholstered in the original black leather with amazing patina. As the coffee table is as wide as the frame of the sofa it can also be placed on the corner to make an L-shaped configuration. Bold 70s Italian design thats striking to look at and has a comfortable seat. The 2 corner seats are more used so a little less high.
