Arquitectura-G Modular Masheb Sofa For Bd Barcelona The unique personality of the architectural office is held in a playful sofa with a striking visual presence. Arquitectura-G plays with the concept of solidity through extremely simple bodies. Its prismatic square and triangular cushions sit on prismatic blocks that rise above solid-turned aluminium legs. Available in three sizes, the Masheb works as an individual module or can intertwine with multiple elements to adapt to both casual situations and formal environments. It is a rectilinear system with the softness of Alcantara and the versatile and carefree pleasure of a refined geometry. There is also a wooden structure made of pine and white laminated MDF. The legs are made of solid brushed aluminum with a wax finish. At the end of them there are adjustable feet made of rubber. The seats have different density polyester foams. The cushions have a MDF and steel base and differente desity polyester foams. Upholstered in Alcantara Pannel fabric. Their work ranges from furniture design to private houses, retail architecture, multi-familly housing or public facilities. Arquitectura-G have broad experience in the renovation of historical architecture, rennovations and new constructions. Their work has been internationally recognized, including the 2015 EU Emerging Architect Mies Van der Rohe Prize. Arquitectura-G also run Apartamento Magazine's architecture section, established the furniture company, Indoors, in 2012, and have two published monographs. About The Manufacturer: We are an international design company run by a collective ownership —Apartamento Magazine (Nacho Alegre, Omar Sosa, Marco Velardi), Taller Bofill (Pablo Bofill, Ricardo Bofill, Luna Paiva, Hernán Cortés, Fernando de la Mata), and Igor Urdampilleta from Arquitectura-G— all architects, publishers and designers. Along with one of the founders, Oscar Tusquets, this group fosters the same nonconformist spirit BD has had since its beginnings. Our independence as a company fuels our intentions and supports this purpose. We are now expanding our design dialogue to delve into diverse realms of creativity, in design and in everything we do. BD has been around for over half a century. It was founded in a nightclub in 1972 by a bunch of young architects and designers from Barcelona. They broke into the design world with a new vision: to produce and market their designs, and the designs of their friends with complete creative freedom and design criteria. Beginning with the designs of contemporaries like Ettore Sottsass, Rennie Mackintosh and Álvaro Siza, BD provoked a curiosity about design. These early pieces helped bring international recognition to the country’s design scene, and many of them still exist today.
