Carl Malmsten Samspel Sofa, Newly Produced, Designed in 1956

About the Item

The sofa Samspel was designed by Carl Malmsten in 1956 and was then produced by the furniture company AB Record in Bollnäs. After many years of hibernation, O.H. Sjögren resumed production of the sofa in 2016. The sofa was displayed at the Stockholm Furniture Fair the same year. The framework is made of solid pine from Swedish forests. The seat has a double-spring interior with a combination of nozag and spiral springs and the padding consists of cold foam, polyether and fibrefill. The legs are made from solid oak. All production is done at O.H. Sjögren’s factory in Tranås, Sweden. The name of the fabric is Fiord and is produced by Kvadrat in Norway. The fabric has a composition of 92% wool and 8% nylon and has a martindale of 60.000.
