About the Item

A standout of 1980s Italian design, the ‘Magia’ sofa by Bacci and Mazzoni for Giovanetti pairs playful forms with sharp detailing. The plush upholstery wraps around two sculptural seat sections with curved edges and matching lumbar cushions. Movable built in lacquered wood trays float above each arm, giving the piece a visual blueprint that’s both graphic and functional. A rare example of Giovanetti’s more unconventional output, and a strong representative of Italy’s postmodern movement. Matching chairs also available.
