This Swedish Art Deco sofa from the 1930s/40s is a commanding example of interwar Scandinavian design, balancing modernity with a warm organic presence. The sofa's most distinctive feature is its gently sweeping, crescent-like shape, avoiding the rigidity of right angles. The back, crafted in ash wood, curves in a continuous arc that mirrors the inner contour of the seat. This creates a sculptural coherence that allows the piece to be positioned freely within a room, intended to be viewed from all sides. The feet, carved into ridged, scallop-like forms, are a signature element that firmly situates the design within the Art Deco tradition. Upholstered in a muted yellow velvet with a soft golden cast, the fabric harmonizes effortlessly with the warm tone of the ash wood.

Reupholstery can be done before shipping by our experienced craftspeople in our own in-house restoration atelier.
