About the Item

Antique honey oak plank bottom Courthouse stool, circa 1890. This beautiful, handcrafted stool features arrow back slat construction and a comfortable plank bottom seat. The oak is a rich, deep honey with a desirable, time-worn patina. Handwritten aged tag on bottom reads, "Relic of the Old Courthouse." Most likely a witness seat or that of the shorthand reporter seated next to the judge. Great stool for an artist, hostess, architect, shop owner or any work associated with a higher work surface or involves standing.
