19th Century Lacquered Wooden Stool in Louis XV Transition Style
About the Item
This adorable stool from the Napoleon III era in the 19th century is of exquisite sculpture quality, characterised by deep, precise, and lavish carving. Its four legs feature intricate scrollwork adorned with delicate acanthus leaves and ribbons cascading from beneath the leaves, while rosettes embellish the leg tops. The belt is intricately carved with an interlaced frieze. The cream-coloured patina adds to its uniqueness.
It is further decorated with a small tapestry containing charming floral motifs from the era. This piece would make a perfect occasional seat in a living room, entryway, or bedroom.
