About the Item

A design classic from the finnish manufacturer artek based on a design by the silversmith and designer bertel gardberg from the 1950s. The stool was designed for villa jouhki. A rare collector's item. This icon of scandinavian design is hard to beat in terms of its simplicity and functionality. A rustic design of high materiality and craftsmanship. The design shows a classic stool shape with three legs. The legs are flared. They penetrate the seat and are intricately wedged in the traditional way from above. The seat made of solid wood elements is strongly contoured. The distinctive hole in the middle of the seat forms a functional handle and, in classic use, allows moisture to drain away. This piece has an attribution mark.
