About the Item
Pair of Louis XV Style Parcel Gilt Ployant Stools with Tasseled Silk Cushions from The Collection of Plácido Domingo.
A charming pair of Louis XV style ployant stools, first half of the 20th century. Each features a crisply carved X-form base in cream-painted and parcel-gilt wood, adorned with foliate motifs and beaded detailing at the medallion centers. The gracefully scrolling legs and cross-stretchers evoke the elegance of 18th-century French design. The seats are topped with plush, pink striped silk cushions trimmed with coordinating tassels at the corners for a soft decorative accent. The stools may be displayed with or without the cushions depending on desired look.

21.5” H x 23.5” W x 18” D (with cushion)
Condition:
Good/Fair; light marks and fading to silk upholstery; minor paint and gilding losses; small scuffs and nicks to wood; one carved roundel with visible crack and touch-up.
