About the Item

1960’s ‘Visingsö’ solid pine wood stool by Carl Malmsten. The design features simple and efficient lines combined with characteristic round edges. Original piece manufactured in Sweden in the 1960’s by Karl Andersson & Söner. Carl Malmsten was a Swedish architect and designer, known by his works devoted to traditional Swedish handcraft (slöjd) opposed to the mainstream functionalism. He considered that the traditional role of the home as an intimate space to rest was mined by the progressive functionalism.
