Rare small Candle Stand or Stool Hand Turned Wood, English Victorian circa 1850

About the Item

This is a rare example of a small Candle Stand or stool, made during the English mid Victorian period Circa 1850. Small stools or candle stand of these very small proportions are rare. The thick circular top is well hand turned and hand painted with a red colour. The four legs are well turned with ring turned detail and small feet , splaying outwards. This piece is well patinated, with obvious wear from use to the top and outer legs. We date this piece to the mid 19th century, circa 1850, or possibly slightly earlier.
