A Stool in Beech by Swedish "enfant terrible" designer Erik Höglund for Boda Trä

About the Item

A very, very rare stool in beech by Swedish "enfant terrible" designer Erik Höglund for Boda Trä. This charming and rare stool designed by the renowned Swedish designer Erik Höglund (1932-1998). Crafted from solid beech for Boda Trä, it showcases his distinctive design language—robust yet playful and functional. Signed underneath the seat This delightful piece is as practical as it is beautiful. Perfect as a seat for a little child or as a stylish side table for your favorite armchair. A piece of Swedish design history that combines craftsmanship, quality, and timeless aesthetics. I have decided not to restore the stool, as some of its charm would be lost. Of course, it is up to the new owner to take any measures if desired. But as mentioned, I have chosen to preserve and showcase the stool’s character with all its visible wear.

Scandinavian Modern Signed Mirror by Erik Höglund for Eriksmåla, Kosta Boda, 1967. Those familiar with Höglunds glass design will recognize the same simplicity, humor and a fine sense of material that defines his works in glass. He liked utensils to be robust, and a bit quirky. Among all types of wood, he favored pine, which he thought was as good as the most popular wood in the 1960s- imported teak. Erik Höglund, the Swedish "le enfant terrible" (1932-1988), was both a painter, sculptor as well as an craftsman. He worked for Kosta Boda, Strömbergshyttan and Eriksmåla. He are known in Sweden for his popular colorful glass and provokative motivs. These wooden pained mirrors...
