About the Item

This piece focuses on internal geometry. The matte surface on top ensures usability, while the sides, through refraction, create an illusion where the internal legs seem to reflect outward, appearing projected onto the stool’s outer walls. The structure consists of four solid blocks that are visible from within, yet from the outside, they dissolve into negative space. Resin works by Laurids Gallèe are all about the interaction of material and light, delving into the question: how does light behave with geometries if one creates a simple architecture with resin? Each of the four pieces in this series explores a different answer, revealing the nuanced relationship between structure, transparency, and light. + Stool was part of the performance Exhibition "The Theater of Things" the show transformed the gallery into a domestic stage — an ever-evolving space shaped by the creative voices of seven designers. Each night, one of them slept in the space. Each morning, a journalist, curator, or critic joined for coffee and conversation — exploring what it means to live among collectible pieces. Inspired by radical gestures like Gianni Pettena’s La Casa all’Elba and Joseph Beuys’ Coyote performance, the exhibition is both lived experience and open dialogue. Limited edition. Standard production time is approximately 8–9 weeks once current stock is sold out. Four pieces available for immediate delivery. For projects involving multiple units, production time may vary.

Her background in set design informs her creative work as a designer. Colour and texture play an important role in developing each and every project. With a particular interest in the use of seating, Jaclyn looks at chairs not only as a functional object but rather as a study of body, shape and language. Her work incorporates unconventional design techniques that stretch far from traditional craftsmanship. Exploring new techniques and material driven processes such as metal forming and non-traditional upholstery, she builds on similar profiles and repetitive patterns in the aim of creating something timeless.
