Swivel Bent Wood 1960s Rattan Chairs, A Pair
About the Item
Rarity and vintage style meet in this pair of bentwod swivel chairs with cane and hand-carved finials. Everything is original on these Redondo Beach estate chairs that remained in their original home for more than 60 years.
The armchairs are made entirely of rattan and wood, which rests on sturdy frames and on velvet seats. The backs are composed of rattan weave that is in very good condition. The bentwood shows signs of wear, which can be addressed with a bit of conservancy and care. On the whole, this pair strikes us as East meets West or a James Mont influenced design. One of the best features of the chair is the swivel motion for wiling away time with a book or in some other relaxing pursuit. This tasteful duo is ready to be touched up however the new owner decides and pressed into service for the next 60 years.
