Set of Four Neo Classical 1930s Armchairs of Bamboo and Rattan in Beige

About the Item

Rarity is key with this set of neo classical revival chairs from the 1930s in bamboo and rattan. Each chair features a squared open back centering a woven wheat-sheaf splat over a trapezoidal over-the-rail upholstered seat. Graceful swags adorn the carved rails, which are raised on four legs. They are gorgeous. There are four, chic, yet somewhat shabby vintage chairs constructed of quality rattan and bamboo. They are stunning as is, but in need of some conservancy after 90 years. The original color could be preserved on these elegant pieces, and new upholstery could restore these comfy chairs. Even in this state, they are of value to the savvy collector or buyer. The seats need re-imagining, but the design, the weight and sturdiness of the chairs is inarguable. There are no marks that I could uncover, nor could I find this particular chair elsewhere. I think it was an incredible auction find.
