19th Century Bookcase Round Corner Display Case Shanxi. Wonderful Round Corner Bookcase, Display case, Scholars Shelf. This case features an open façade having four large spacious shelfs to hold books of all sizes, collections of objects, and or sculptures. Solid elm wood bookcase of the the early to middle 19th century, Shanxi Province. Composed of hand hued wood, having tenon & mortise joinery. Beautifully outlined by its Round Corner frame and top, noted on all four support legs front and rear from top to bottom. Round Corner cabinets and Cases are very desirable for their softened round edged frames. Inside shelf space is gracious with a depth of 19 inches and heights from the bottom shelf up at 15, 16, 18.25, 17 at the top shelf. This is an excellent bookcase that allows for great storage, display, and utilization. Charming patina to the wood both interior and exterior. In very good condition.

Early 19th century Chinese bench. A special black lacquered antique Elm wood bench circa 1800. A waisted (refers to specific Chinese furniture construction & joinery) raised top set on frame with hump back stretchers and struts. A most sensational patina of black lacquer worn through to the wood showcases the benches elegant presence and raw beauty. This is an original piece with a 200 plus year history. The raw top is worn silk like smooth from age and use. The reaming black lacquer is thick having an alligatored rustic patina. The construction is solid and strong.
