About the Item
The Stack shelf is an absolute object. Functional and sculptural, its form directly emerges from the systems of mass production. The design is based on a rectangular aluminium profile divided into ten equal parts. Each part is connected to the other with rivets and the spacing between the stacks accentuates the idea of industrial repetition.
The light brushed finish of the surface is done only to bring out the natural aspect of aluminium and to create a subtle play with light that animates the object. The piece is then waxed to protect the aluminium from stains but still allow for a more natural aspect than what the anodising could provide.
'Stack' is designed and entirely made by Johan Viladrich, it consists of a limited edition of 50 pieces + 5 artist proofs.
Each piece is signed and numbered and professionally packed.
